Lucien Pellat Finet Ready To Wear Spring Summer 2015 Paris
Black skulls decorated denim baseball caps, chunky key chains and the lining of a smart jacket on display for the Lucien Pellat-Finet spring/summer 2015 collection.
The motif has been a recurring theme for the brand which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Others include the hemp leaf which could be found on a series of pieces with a utilitarian feel that worked like a more feminine interpretation of Army gear. Think a khaki /beige color scheme used for a series of tougher-looking shirts and bomber jackets, featuring plays on an Army camouflage pattern.
The collection also worked in popular culture. This included T shirts produced through a collaboration with Larry Clark, the American photographer, which feature images of disaffected youth posing in underwear or showing their bottoms, and a collaboration with the Simpsons which included a cashmere sweater in gray featuring Bart Simpson, flying on a skateboard.
Both had a street feel.
Although designed to reflect a casual, comfortable aesthetic, the collection relied on technique and the use of fine materials and artsy prints to create a luxurious, light look. It also worked in elegant scarves and ruffled dresses to expand upon the hoodies and Clark T-Shirt items.
This season the collection was inspired by nature, and the color palette of greens, beige, pale blue and white was punctuated by a bright orange used for cardigans and sweatshirts.
The collection made casual wear look right for almost any occasion.
